The creek pictured above is Hickory Flat Creek, a headwater tributary of East Fork French Broad River. When I learned that it would be part of the new Headwaters State Forest, I had high hopes for specs, and this would be a new creek for both Bobby and me. It is hard to be disappointed spending time in such a pretty place, but we did not see a trout. I'm sure we will try it again eventually. On a brighter note, I got new creeks #852 (South Prong Glady Fork) and #853 (a UT of South Prong that we are calling State Line Branch) on this trip.
